The World Forum For Ethics In Business

The World Forum For Ethics and Business WFEBis a registered public interest foundation based in Belgium. Its mandate is to establish ethical foundations of business in a global world. WFEB aims to bring together leaders from all sections of society through its annual International Leadership Symposium on Ethics in Business.

Over the last nine years, annual symposiums have been held at the European Parliament and other locations to examine if business and ethics are complementary or contradictory. Over 4000 leaders from 60 countries have participated in these conferences and innumerable transformations have taken place.

The year 2010 marked the expansion od WEFB to new geographies. In September 2010, the conference was held in Poland and Russia where actions are being worked on to implement ethics on a local level. In 2012, satellite conferences took place in Singapore, the Netherlands and Argentina with further ones planned in other parts of the world in 2013. Participants have included Nobel Laureates, Political leaders and top executives from global companies like Microsoft, Coca Cola, Infosys and others.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

The World Forum for Ethics in Business is a global meeting ground of the best of minds that live by their conscience, and uphold not just that which is legally correct, but also that , which  is morally just.

Since the previous conferences, we are delighted to have seen the success of satellite conferences in different parts of the world, like Singapore, Argentina , Netherlands and more. We have also seen the setting up of regional WFEB cahpters and partnerships, leading to collective action. The global impact is there to percieve!

Institutions like Sri Sri University School of Good Governance have been set up.

Organisations have been strengthened with the Transformational Leadership for Excellence program offered ny WEFB's partner the International Association for Human Values. Personal advocacy had taken a new form. The 'OATH OF ETHICS'
has become a powerful expression of commitment to ethical action.

We have heard participants consistently recount how energized and rejuvenated they felt as they heard heroic anecdotes of people they could identify with. Each Conference germinates ambassadors of ethics, who become beacons of inspiration, simply by  resolutely 'walking the talk' on ethical behaviours. One of our delegates went on to establish a forum in his organisation for discussing Organisational and Human Values.

Our five strategic objectives of the forum continue to be :
  • Franchise the World Forum for Ethics in Business
  • Forge Platforms for Practitioner Exchange
  • Wholesale Corporate Leadership Program
  • Forge Coalitions for Collective Actions
  • Monitor, Evaluate and Report Back
THE ETHICS OF BUSINESS AWARD  is an annual prize conferred by the WFEB to honour individuals and companies that have effectively applied ethics and human values in business and life. The Award was instituted in 2006, and is usually presented as a highlight at the end of the annual conference.
